Privacy Policy

BSI AI ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Hemanth S Gowda, provides the BSI AI platform at bsi-ai.site (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information (Firebase Auth)

  • Google Sign-In: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and Google profile photo URL from Firebase Authentication.
  • Email/Password Sign-In: We store only your email address. Passwords are hashed and managed exclusively by Firebase — we never see your plaintext password.

b. Workspace & Usage Data (Firestore)

  • Your selected workspace role (e.g., Engineering Student, Medical Student).
  • AI usage count — the total number of AI queries you have made across all devices.
  • Role selection timestamps and last active timestamps.
  • This data is stored in Google Firestore and linked to your user ID.

c. Uploaded Images

  • If you upload an image to analyze with our AI, the image is converted to base64 and sent directly to the Groq API (or compatible backend) for processing.
  • We do not store uploaded images. Images are processed ephemerally and discarded after the API response.

d. Usage Analytics

  • Standard web analytics: pages visited, session duration, device/browser type, and approximate geographic location (country-level, derived from IP address).
  • This data is anonymized and used solely to improve the platform.

2. Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)

BSI AI displays advertisements through Google AdSense to fund platform operations. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and/or other websites on the Internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session across devices.
  • To route you to the correct AI workspace based on your saved role.
  • To display your accurate AI usage count across all devices and browsers.
  • To improve the Service and detect abuse or misuse.
  • To respond to support communications.

4. AI Query Processing (Groq)

AI queries (text and images) are sent to our serverless backend running on Cloudflare Workers, which forwards them to the Groq API. Your queries are used only to generate the AI response and are not stored permanently by BSI AI. Please review Groq's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and database services.
  • Groq: AI inference for query processing.
  • Google AdSense: Advertising services (see Cookie Policy).
  • Cloudflare: CDN and serverless compute infrastructure.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data (role, usage count) is retained until you delete your account.
  • Query content is not stored by BSI AI after the response is delivered.
  • Uploaded images are never stored — they are processed in-memory only.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Opt-out: Opt out of personalized advertising via Google's tools.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.

8. Children's Privacy

BSI AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the effective date. Continued use of BSI AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
